Pricing
Free on one device. $4.99/mo for the rest.
Notes, tasks, search, scanning and Ask ClearNote are the same on both — the only thing a subscription adds is syncing to more than one device.

Why one device is free
A single device with full offline notes, tasks, search and scanning is a complete, usable product on its own — plenty of people never need more than their Mac or their phone. Syncing that same library to a second device, and keeping it correct while both are edited at once, is the actual engineering cost this subscription pays for: a server, storage, and the sync engine that makes two devices agree.
What Plus does not change
Storage, AI, search, scanning, export — everything else — is identical on both. ClearNote is not going to make search worse or cap your note count to sell you a subscription. The free device is not a trial; it stays free for as long as you use it that way.
Not live during the beta
Upgrading itself is not switched on: there is no working checkout on this site, and nothing can charge you until billing is configured on the server, which it is not yet. This page describes what it will cost once that changes — nobody will be charged retroactively, and there will be a clear announcement first.
The one-device limit above is a separate thing, and it does not wait on billing: the code that enforces it is built and tested, and it applies to any account without an active subscription regardless of whether checkout works yet. If a second device asks you to upgrade sooner than you expected, that is the limit doing its job, not a bug — tell us if the timing catches you off guard.
Cancelling
Cancel any time from Settings → Plan → Manage Billing, which opens Stripe's own billing portal — ClearNote never sees your card details, only what Stripe tells it about the subscription. Your notes are never held hostage: export works the same whether or not you are subscribed, and cancelling only affects how many devices can sync going forward.
