About
What this site is,
and who is behind it.
clearnote.app is the home of ClearNote, a notes and tasks app. Here is the short, checkable version.
What ClearNote is
ClearNote is a notes and tasks app: rich-text notes in notebooks, fast search that works offline, tasks with reminders, scanning and text recognition on Apple devices, and optional AI that answers questions from your own notes. Your library is kept on each device and synced through a ClearNote account. The feature list is the whole of it.
It is in private beta. The Mac app is a free download, the web app is live for people who have been let in, and the iPhone and iPad app is not released yet.
What this website is
- clearnote.app — this site: product pages, the changelog, privacy and terms, and the export format documentation. Static pages with no third-party scripts and no cookies.
- clearnote.app/app — the ClearNote web app, for people who have signed in.
- clearnote.app/downloads and /appcast.json — the Mac app’s installer and the small file the app reads to learn that a newer version exists.
- clearnote.app/api — the service the apps talk to: sign-in, sync, attachments and the AI relay. It is not a web page.
Everything is served from clearnote.app. There are no other domains to trust, and nothing on this site asks you for a password, a payment or a card.
Who publishes it
ClearNote is an independent project. It is not part of a larger company and is not affiliated with Evernote or Apple. The Mac app is signed with an Apple Developer ID certificate and notarized by Apple, which you can check yourself — the download page shows how.
